About

034I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama, but just barely; we moved less than a year after I was born. As the child of a military officer, I moved roughly every three years, after spending the first six years of my life in Germany. After stops in California, Alabama and Arkansas, I graduated from high school in Bellevue, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha — yes Black people do live there… at least they used to. From there, I went on to receive my A.B. in International Relations, concentration in Latin America, from Stanford University.

I have extensive professional experience working in the Information Technology sector at industry-leading firms — Encyclopaedia Britannica and Korn/Ferry International. I later received my MBA in General Management from the University of Arizona. In addition to my IT experience, I have also been a professional actor, performing on stages across the United States and in London, England.

I chose the Retailing and Consumer Sciences program at the University of Arizona because of its interdisciplinary nature. The program allowed me to incorporate extensive coursework in consumer behavior, marketing and geography into a cohesive research agenda.
